Bank the change

It's not just children who benefit by having a piggy bank. When you get coins in change back from a purchase put it in your piggy bank or jam jar or Milo tin or whatever you use as a piggy bank. Always give the cashier whole dollars, not the exact amount. In a few months, you will have “found” money that can be used for to pay down debt or build your emergency fund.
