MOO Reed Diffusers

Scent sticks, or reed diffusers, are all the rage at the moment. They are safer to use than candles, but they can be rather pricey, especially from specialty candle stores (up to $100!). Even at department stores they are rather expensive.

You can quite easily and very cheaply make your own at home, for under $5, and they make lovely gifts too.

You will need:
A small glass container with a narrow neck (an opening about the size of a 20 cent coin is good)
Your favourite essential oil
DPG (dipropylene glycol - a base for fragrances, available online and from craft shops)
Reeds

Step 1.  Combine 1 part essential oil with 3 parts DPG.

Step 2. Pour into your glass container.

Step 3. Drop in a small handful of reeds - enough to fill the opening of the container.  The reeds will absorb the mixture and subtly scent your room.

Be creative with your fragrance oil. You can use any essential oil you like, or combine a few to create a custom scent. You can switch fragrances with the seasons or for special occasions by simply making up another batch of oil and carrier and adding new reeds.

You can buy your reeds inexpensively online (eBay, Amazon) or from craft shops.

  1. I love my room so I bought many things to décor my room like room spray, diffuser and much more. Actually my friends are coming to my home for study so I want them to feel good at study time. I hope your suggested room sprays may be very good.
