This recipe was contributed by Cheapskater 3ForMe and was an instant hit! It is so close to the creamy pasta salad sold from Woolworth's deli counters you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference in a blind taste test.
Creamy Pasta Salad
Ingredients:250g uncooked medium sized pasta
1 med size carrot, grated
1 stick celery, chopped
1 med spring onion, white part discarded, finely chopped
1/2 red capsicum, diced
2/3 cup grated tasty cheese
1/3 cup finely chopped parsley
1 x 300ml bottle ready-made coleslaw dressing (praise traditional)
3 heaped tablespoon sour cream
Add or delete whichever ingredients you don't like
Method:
1. Cook pasta in boiling salted water, drain and chill
2. In small bowl, combine the coleslaw dressing and sour cream
3. Combine pasta, vegetables, cheese and coleslaw dressing mix
4. Season and Chill and VOILA!!
Who knew this would be so easy to make :)
ReplyDeleteI bought some of this particular salad from woollies yesterday at a ridiculously expensive price! I was actually going to post on the forum to see if anyone had managed to make their own, so I was very pleased to see this post. Hopefully someone will come up with a MOO for the tomato and basil noodle salad, if they haven't already. It is a favourite in our house and now we cant get it at woollies anymore. Thankfully Foodland keeps it in stock, but their store is way out of the way, and the prices make it almost not affordable.
