10 Real Ways to Keep the Grocery Budget Down


1. Set a specific budget.
2. Plan your meals for the week.
3. Minimize waste with portion control and planned leftovers.
4. Know and use what you have on hand.
5. Learn how to switch expensive ingredients for cheaper, healthier versions in recipes.
6. Maximize cheap foods  such as beans, fresh vegetables, pasta and rice.
7. Double the recipe and freeze the extra meal when cooking soups, stews, casseroles, pasta dishes etc.
8. Have at least one meatless meal a week.
9. Buy produce that’s in-season .
10. Check your receipt.
