MOO Monday: MOO Solid Perfume

Mondays from here forward will be devoted to MOOing. Every Monday will be an new MOO for you to try and another thing you can cross off your shopping list.

As Mother's Day is this coming Sunday, this week's MOO Monday is a tutorial for a solid perfume. Solid perfumes can be customised to any taste using essential oil blends and/or fragrance oils.

You will need:
1 tsp coconut oil (available in health food stores) or another carrier oil such as extra virgin olive oil or sweet almond oil.
1 tsp beeswax
Measuring spoons
A small pot
A small heatproof bowl
Essential oils or fragrance oils of your choice
Small jars or tins for your completed product (you can re-use a lip balm tin, cosmetic jar, the tiny individual jam jars or buy new ones)
Medicine dropper

Step: 1. If you are using a combination of essential oils, mix these in a small bowl. I used 10 drops of pure vanilla, 10 drops of lavender oil and 10 drops of sweet orange oil.

Step 2. In a small pot of water to the boil. In the heatproof bowl combine 1 teaspoon each beeswax and coconut oil.  Place over the pot of boiling water and stir until melted.

Step 3. Add your essential oils and mix gently.

Step 4. Pour into small jars, allow to set.
